SHUT UP

That is what I want to SCREAM at this fucking (and no iPhone I don't mean ducking) woman who is screaming at her mother in a restaurant who is sitting no more than 8 inches from her. She's like 10 feet from me and you know how I know it's her mother- BECAUSE SHE'S SCREAMING AT HER. And not like yelling she's just a loud talker. A really fucking loud talker. I can tell you all about how she hates the way her mom changes her baby's diapers and how she hates the way she doesn't make her son wash his hands and how she doesn't have Sarah's address to invite her to a party and how her baby has diarrhea. Fuck, yeh I know there's a virus going around, but if I didn't I sure would have now. Fuck. She just said it's a pain in the ass, literally. Cackle cackle cackle.

My dinner partner isn't here yet so I have a long night ahead of me listening to her say "KAY SUH DE YUH"

"GWAK UH MOE LAY"

Fuck me. Another margarita please NOW.

Quote of the year

"we have a smart and moderate president elect who's african-american and has a beautiful family and who hung out with punk rockers when he was in college? it's like waking up and finding out that every crappy top-40 station in america is now playing tv on the radio and the bad brains"

from moby's 11/14 facebook blog

Yay for cookies

3 lbs of chocolate chunk "gourmet" cookie dough sitting on my desk
taunting me. I wonder if Guy will make this for dinner?

Mmm curry

What is wrong with this picture?

5 pieces of celery
Zero cashew butter
Must. Improve. Portion. Distribution. Hmmph.

Writing Class, Fail.

So, yeh. I'm not feeling the writing class. It's all done online, which obviously I love, but the feedback was all so, ummm, positive. It was way too sugary. AND - I'm not going there to find friends. People were sending me comments about how they are also lazy so maybe we could help each other out and keep each other motivated. No. Sorry. If I wanted some new best friends I would start a reality show looking for some thankyouverymuch. I went there hoping to get motivated, but I just got annoyed. And believe me it is WAY easier to annoy me than it is to motivate me and I run across those situations daily so I don't need to add another.

I do need to find some motivation though. It's hard - I've been busy. Busy sitting on the couch watching the election results. Busy syncing my Zune. Busy hosting Halloween game nights. Busy dealing with majorfuckingdrama at work. Busy thinking about what other classes I can sign up and not finish (sewing I believe could be next on that list, possibly followed by photography at Samys, and then maybe knitting just to really waste a good hundred bucks.) Maybe if you are reading this you can volunteer to send me writing challenges. That would be fun. For you.

ok, gotta go get busy on my laundry. Fold fold fold.

Music

Update: another good reason not to make top 10 lists, I made the original WIP list back in July and half those bands I don't even listen to now. huh.

Since I was ridiculed many years for only putting 1 album on my "top 10" list I have not made another list. I felt totally justified in proclaiming that Sophtware Slump was so good that it woulda been THAT much better than whatever I could have made 2 - 10. I felt it was a strong statement. Other people, my husband, didn't agree. So whatever. I figure no one gives a shit what is on someone else's top 10, they just want a reason to tell you what's on theirs. The only reason I ever look at someone's list is to make judgements (come on, we're being honest right?) and (less likely) look for new music. If I see something on a lot of lists I may seek it out...

but today as I was rocking out in the car, I figured that since I have a whole tag for "lists" I should use it! And if I make an evolving top 10 list during the year come January I won't have to struggle to remember what I liked and I will already have my list so that you can judge me.

here it is... (I think I was just inspired to make another list; reasons why I have comments disabled)

in alphabetical order by the second letter in the first word:

Jay Reatard, Matador Singles '08
Kanye West, Graduation… it came out in 07, but whatev. I’m lovin it in 08.
The Black Keys, Attack & Release
Gossip, Live in Liverpool
The Kills, Midnight Boom
Times New Viking, Rip It Off
King Khan and The Shrines, The Supreme Genius…
Gnarls Barkley, The Odd Couple
Mudhoney, The Lucky Ones
newest addition in bold

huh, couldn't come up with 10. I'm sure I forgot some. Don't hate. It's my list. You don't have to listen.

the list will evolve assuming something else I like comes out this year, updates in bold. I have high expectations for the Jay Reatard Singles, Clinic and, Spiritualized

I accidentally just broke a girl's heart

We never answer the phone. I happen to think Caller ID is one of the top 5 inventions of the last 15ish years (along with TiVo, HD, Smart Phones, and Online Banking) and it allows me to know when I can ignore the call. So, the other day we get a message from what I assume was a nervous telemarketer with poor reading skills and just deleted it without thinking. I noticed that it was a real phone number though and not blocked or an 800 number which I thought was odd. Just a few minutes ago I noticed the same number pop up and the girl - even more nervous this time - left a message like this

Hi, uhh, this is ______, and I am calling from, uhh, Califo, California and I am looking for, uhhh, Guy Vaughn. It's not, uhh, anything, I , uhhh, just, uhh, am looking for my father who's named Guy Vaughn....

at that point I was so startled but I didn't want the poor girl to go on wondering so I just answered and said "Hi, uhh, Guy Vaughn lives here but he's not your father" - man - HARSH. I wasn't trying to be mean, I was just so fucking surprised. She was clearly disappointed and uncomfortable and I said "I'm sorry" and she said "It's ok" and hung up. I wanted to call her back and apologize and tell her that I've looked up my father and mother too and thought about calling them. I wanted to tell her how courageous I thought she was and good luck with her search. I felt terrible.

But then...

I wondered, man - what if it IS Guy? can you imagine. She sounded sorta young... like coulda been in her teens. Maybe I should have him call her? omg. can you imagine. A search on white pages.com brings up 6 Guy Vaughn's in California, but our phone number isn't listed. Did she PAY to find it? Wow... I am totally not going to be able to sleep tonight. Can we really just assume he isn't her father??? you just never really know right?? can you imagine.

Of course, Guy is out of town so I am processing all of this on my own. Calling him. Hold on. Ok, not sure where he is, so I am just going to keep assuming he needs to call her and figure all this out.

oh shit, I think I just found her on Facebook.

Fuck it, I'm calling her

She was really nice. It's not Guy Guy.... hope she finds what she is looking for. good grief. I need a drink and to go to bed.

I need a new nail salon

So, my current preferred nail place is just too far. It's in Santa Monica, which is only like 6 miles away, but considering I live in Los Angeles and there is probably 750 nail salons between here and Santa Monica there is no real reason to go all the way up there, unless I am meeting Nancy for breakfast, but that's only like half the time. And I'm not talking Main St Santa Monica (south)- I go allll the way up to Santa Monica blvd and 4th Street (north-ish) - so not only is it far, but I usually end up parking wayyy the hell up in one of the 3rd Street Promenade structures. Bad. But I've been happy enough with their service so I make the trek. But today I am reconsidering. I get that the economy is in the shitter and business is probably way the fuck down for businesses that offer what some people, although not me, would consider non-essential.

In the 25 minutes I was there I had to say:
No, I don't want a 10 minute shoulder massage
No, I don't want extra buff
No, I don't need extra hand massage
No, I don't need extra foot massage
No, I don't want hand paraffin
No, I don't want foot paraffin
No, I do not like all this upsell bullshit
Yes, I am sure.

Looking for recommendations close to home to have one.

Writing Class, lesson one

So I have a friend that is taking a photography class and is loving it. And you may know that I really enjoy the picture taking so I looked into his class but quickly realized that taking a photography class would require GOING to a photography class, as in leaving the house, as in getting off of the couch, as in it's fall and will probably start getting cold (altho I did just buy a really cute jacket) and do I really want to drive all the way to Santa Monica after work once a week for 6 straight weeks - the horror. I didn't want to totally give up on the idea of taking a class though and noticed the same people offered online classes. Sweet. Stay on the couch and still feel productive when I can manage to squeak out 20 minutes of motivation. Sooooo anyway, I signed up for a beginning writing class... I've taken a bunch of writing classes and thought a beginning one would be good and not too demanding (I would imagine?) and hopefully get me motivated!

ANYWAY - I figured since I was asked twice about why I haven't been posting (am totally feeling the love btw - thanks bitches!) that I would go ahead and post my writings from the lessons. I hope to continue this but I reserve the right to get lazy and not post, be a total flake and not post or think the assignment was lame or required some personal information or experiences that I don't want to share, and not post.

Lesson 01
Go to Discussion Area 1 and introduce yourself by writing a paragraph that tells us:
Something about you.
What you hope to get out of the Beginning Writer's Workshop.

(yeh - not very demanding, I know - but it's lesson 01 - what do you want? btw you should see some of the frightening replies. here I go judging again. bad cindy)

hello.
by: Cindy
Hi everyone… I am 35 and have a great husband, some pets and an awesome job. My awesome job consumes most of my time and all of my energy. I love to write but many years ago had a terrible experience with an ex-boyfriend reading my journal which contained some seriously personal thoughts and things that could have been very hurtful to people if he chose to share what he read. I signed up for this class hoping to find some motivation and start writing again. I also have absolutely no focus and am very easily distracted – I walked away from this 3 times, went to check my email twice and sent two IM's – so I guess I am also hoping to find some focus through motivation. I also love run on sentences and writing in all lower case, but those are mostly because I am lazy. Oh yeh – I am also lazy. Lesson 1 – check!

side note, i just decided that all blogs should be called blahgs. as in blah blah blah...

At the end of the blog...

The other day I was listening to a friend at work talk about how annoyed he gets when people say "at the end of the day" - I added that I also didn't like when people said "When all is said and done" - I'm watching some terrible reality show right now and someone said "At the end of the day you have to look out for number 1" I just decided I hate "look out for number one" more than the other two.

I have some others that really get under my skin and annoy the shit out of me, usually when I am sitting in a meeting listening to people who like to hear themselves talk.

- get under my skin
- look at something "holistically"
- at the eleventh hour
- FRANKLY (that one usually gets said with a snippy tone or elevated voice
- ANYthing sports related. We're not a football team for fuck's sake
- once in a blue moon

whatever.

Guest Blog - Sometimes I wonder...

I received this yesterday in an email and felt it was appropriate as a first "Guest Blog" post. Technically, it's an email, not a blog. But thankfully I get make the rules.

Sometimes I wonder...

Why is it so hard for the women [at Mattel] to flush the toilet. I wait to see if floaties come back up don’t you? It's the polite thing to do.
Why do they put such a huge roll of toilet paper on that wheel anyway? Don’t they know it wont spin and you fight to tear off one sheet at a time for like half an hour?
A bathroom experience really shouldn’t be that frustrating. I'm just sayin.

Nick Cave news. omg. omg. omg

FUCK YEH! So, without seeing even a trailer, I have already determined that The Road is going to be my favorite movie of the year and will probably get into the Top 5 (behind Pulp fiction and fighting for placement with Goodfellas, LA Confidential and Purple Rain) and since it was a John Hillcoat film I sort of assumed Nick Cave would, at the very least, be on the soundtrack. Soooo happy when I read the news that he'll be doing the score, that is going to be fan-fucking-tastic. I can't wait.

So to recap the awesomeness that Nick fans have to look forward to in the coming year:

1) The Road w Nick score source
2) Reissues - make that Deluxe Reissues! says who?
3) A new book! Now I just need to finally finish the last one! If it's on the internet in Canada it must be true

yay. I win.

Sailors are the new pirates.

So if you have spent more than say, 3-1/2 minutes with me you know that I use expletives. A lot. What can I say, I am a product of my environment – I grew up in Lawndale, Carson, San Pedro, in a totally white trash family complete with drugs, Thanksgiving Day fights concluding with brother 3 trying to hit brother 2 in the head with a hammer (did I mention they were grown men and bro 2 was my father?), and unemployment/welfare checks. So yeh. I swear. Usually I just think it’s part of my charm, but sometimes I think “fuck, I really need to cut back.” Knowing this is nearly impossible I think I have a good solution – Talk like a Sailor Day. We already talk like pirates once a year and that's getting a little tired honestly, talking like a sailor isn’t really a stretch right? And it’s for EVERYONE, all ages, all occupations, everyone. Little Jacob running around after the soccer ball screaming “oh shit, why the fuck do I have to pass the ball to HER?” or James asking his financial planner "HOW THE FUCK CAN I RETIRE IN A MARKET LIKE THIS" without anyone getting offended or all uppity. Get it all out in one day and the rest of the year people can go back to judging.

- No offense to actual sailors, I love boats.

Baby Steps

Everywhere I click lately it seems that people are making lists about all the ways they are going to improve themselves - maybe that fucking terrible movie (not that I saw it) The Bucket List got people to thinking...maybe I just happen to be clicking on lots of pre-midlife crisis blogs... maybe it's the screwed up state of our country and the uncertainty of where we are going to be depositing our pay/unemployment checks. Whatever the hell it is it inspired me as much as I can be inspired lately. Some lists are before I die lists, some are before I turn ____ age. But I need little goals.

I actually started writing this two weeks and was hoping to come up with some more, but I've never been won those people with "goals" - like I said, baby steps.

Before Dec 31 2008
Finish the living room art project
Go to the gym for 11 straight days
Go 3 weeks without coffee (hah! only 4 more days and I am there!)
Maintain or improve my current weight. (ok, obs I want that number to be lower. baby steps)

Before Sep 28 2009
Find an awesome Los Angeles TShirt or Print
Get a new tattoo

Before I die
Have some will power and say no to things that I know are bad for me
Stop multitasking and just do things one at a time

Day 7

Day 7 Detox

The headache is gone! Yay! AND I have tons of energy. Unfortunately Guy is also gone so I'm basically bouncing off the walls and needing to figure out what I can do with all this energy!

Yesterday was the hardest day of the detox, went to a kiddie birthday party where there was a ton of tasty food (so I was told) icey cold beers (it was HOT) and cake! I did good though, I had a piece of chicken that I am pretty sure was "safe" and stayed away from everything else. I'm actually pretty shocked that I've been able to stick with it, wonder what's gunna happen in 2 weeks when I'm done. Oh I've lost 7 lbs. So there.

Bounce bounce.

Day 4

Day 4 Detox.

Headache.

(Day 5 has started much better)

Day 3

Headache.

Day 2

Detox Day 2 9/23 Tuesday 1 drink, 1 headache
Today was not an easy day. The Headache set it around 10:30, 11-ish. The insanity that is my Inbox was also out.of.fucking.control and it just made for a rough day. I really need to be drinking more water. I want a cup of coffee so so bad I can hardly stand it. I think approaching this whole “detox” thing as a challenge to myself was totally the way to go. Only 19 days left. (and really, I’m not going the whole 21 days because we’re going camping the last 3 days of it, but I don’t need to admit right now that I am already giving up, do I? no.)

THE Drink
Banana
Almonds
Salmon
Steamed veggies (the worst steamed veggies EVER btw – do not, I repeat, do not get the steamed veggies from the El Segundo Whole Foods. Terrible)
Brown rice
Strawberrries
Nectarine
Chicken breast
Lettuce and cucumbers
Sliced turkey

I’ve been in bed since 7:15. It’s 7:55 and really just want to go to sleep.

AND I was just reading another random blog and it was all about how the author isn’t going to be so negative or judgmental and is going to try and focus on the positive things in life. At least I think that’s what it is about, I didn’t actually read it.

Can’t believe it’s only day 2. Feels like a week.

Day 1

Day 1 9/22 Monday 1 drink

Day 1, no major mishaps and everything seemed to go smooooooth. I was reminded by the evil* Dr Patrick that chili – even vegan chili – is made with tomatoes. DAMNIT! Oh well. There’s always tomorrow. Totally felt really good today, tomorrow the headache is going to set it for a couple of days I would imagine and I need to stock up on more snacks because I was reminded today by Tina that I need to “keep my mouth busy” (huh huh) so that I don’t crave sweets.

The Drink
Banana
Strawberries
Carrots
Chili
Salad
Almonds
Grapes
Salmon
Red Potatoes
Green tea
Water (not nearly enough water)

*Dr. Patrick is not evil.

Day 0

9/21 Sunday

Tomorrow I start a detox thingy that is GOING to last 3-weeks (or 21 days, or 504 hours, or 30,240 minutes, or if you like really unachievable goals it’s 1,814,400 seconds – I do love the internet). I say GOING to last because damnit I am totally going to get through this. In the grand scheme of life 3 weeks is soooo nothing. It’s going to be tough – no caffeine, sugar, wheat… it’s really just a super healthy way of eating that I should be doing anyway along with some probably really nasty tasting drink that has all of the vitamins I am not getting because all I ever eat is coffee, sugar and wheat. (yes, I consider coffee a food). Hmmph.

In the spirit of a good kick-off I HAD to go out with a bang, so today I had a huge coffee along with a donut and then a very small serving of a very salty chinese fast food dish accompanied by a super tasty carbonated and caffeinated soda. I think we’re having skirt steak for dinner along with some yummy wine and finishing up with some dark chocolate. So basically, every single thing I have eaten today will be off limits for the next almost two million seconds. Easy! Right.

A quick list of things in my diet that I can’t eat:
Coffee
Red Meat (only during week 2 do I have to stop all meats)
Tomatoes
Pasta
Eggs, dairy
Chocolate
Things with added Sugars. Bah.

Piece of (sugar-free) cake!

oy, I just realized Guy is going to be out of town for most of week 2, really smart planning on his part. I'll have to work extra hard to find things I like and can prepare myself that aren't frozen mac and cheese dinners!

If it's September we're going to Pomona!

Pretty much every year I try and make it out to the fair. Basically if you've been to one fair you've been to them all and nothing really changes except the prizes evolve into the most current licensed hit (Hannah Montana) and the shopping expos get the lastest As Seen on TV must-have (ShamWOW!). Knowing this does not stop me from wanting to go.... here are some pics of things that can be seen and done at the fair. See you there next year!

A lot on Eva's mind

Eva is wondering when the last time there was 8+ scoreless innings on Colorado and why all of the televised football games are games she doesn't care to watch. Oh, she's also curious about when she's going to be introduced on Boris and Caesar's blog.

Posted by ShoZu

Thursday morning thoughts

1) wow, it's already Thursday. (wow, it's already September. wow, I'm already 35.) shit.

2) I have a headache.

3) I'm listening to the Mattel webcast about the new safety standards -- it's exciting stuff really. They just said that if you don't work for Mattel or haven't been invited you should log off or leave the room because the presentation is privileged.. I dunno, that made me laugh. Altho it is kind of fancy that we webcast.

4) I really don't "Love Lucy" - If I explain this comment I will have to kill you. See point 3.

5) Man, it is really not easy to make a toy. We do have cookie socials and half-day Fridays but fucking hell, they get earned.

Suffering through the first hour of the MTV VMAs

I am questioning the decision that someone at MTV made to have Rihanna open the VMAs

WAIT, is that a White Stripes song? wtf.
She is just not a good performer.
This song sucks.
Those are totally courtesy applause.
Oh good, she’s gonna come back later.

Russell Brand is totally reading, he shoulda memorized.

I am totally not on board with the new set up – the room is too small, you can see backstage, the logos are out of scale to the small room, the cameras are too close.

Jamie Foxx says “Wake Up!”. And I say How?

Jamie Foxx says “Give it up for Rihanna and that outfit” – he must like thighs.

PREDICTION: Oh, Katy Perry is totally gonna win.
ACTUAL: Britney

Why would you put the camera on someone who is about to be told to leave their seats?

Britney believes in God?

Holy shit – this show is sucking ass.

Football score check: commercial

There is a commercial on about 18-25 year old voters and how they are under represented, I should not be watching this

Umm, except Demi Moore just came onstage, and she’s old.

Good Christ, why would you let her walk onstage without a mic?

Paying the bills: Chris Brown just won, but he didn’t specifically thank Guy, or anyone else.

I wonder why the speeches are so short and how they can do that for other shows

Why the fuck is Russell Brand talking so fast?

The Jonas Brothers playing on a fake stoop? WHAT THE FUCK.

I wonder if they provided all that neon to the kids or if those kids actually own that shit

Whoever the hell is singing Like A Virgin has a terrible voice and camel toe

Football score check: Chi 7 – Ind 6

Oh – Kaba Modern and Fanny Pak are doing a dance off! That should be pretty sweet

Oh I guess that was Katy Perry. She needs better shorts and a voice coach

I am literally becoming angry watching this terrible show.

Oh huh, here’s Michael Phelps. He’s totally over exposed

Leona Lewis shoulda been singing earlier, she has a nice voice and no camel toe

Bleeping bad words in songs does not make for good tv

I think the small room is really making this show bad.

Lindsey needs a bra and to learn how to read

Wait – they aren’t gonna show the dance battle?? Damnit.

Best Dancing in a Video
PREDICTION: Pussycat Dolls
ACTUAL: Pussycat Dolls.

There is a lot of God thanking tonight

Football score check: Chi 12 – Ind 6

Commercial: When did Ballys become Bally?

I think I have figured out that MTV is intentionally making this show bad, it’s the train wreck factor, they know I can’t change the channel because I need to see what is next.

I do not know who Paramore is

More neon

I am not missing anything by not knowing who Paramore is

Time for dinner! Yum!

Jeremy Jay - Lunar Camel

The White Stripes - Go

(Ok so it's 1:08 pacific time, I thought Guy said I got in at 3 but that just can't be - 2 more hours on this plane, fuuuuuuuuck, my itinerary is in the overhead, sometimes being trapped in the window seat sucks, maybe I should start sitting in aisle seats)

Me being me

Even after a 12 hour travel day I still have it in me to wonder about a hotel that has hard wood floors and a steam shower serving food on a tray like this. Maybe they're being ironic. I would be more impressed with bamboo though.

Hey! ho! let's go.

Hot Wheels Road Trip - Detroit Stop, part 2 - BBQ!

After a short break and a shower we headed over to Hot Wheels Collector Joe's house where his wife had prepared an awesome spread of carne asade and chicken for us. Oh and beer and margaritas! yum.

We're heading out to dinner now, Collector Joe is hosting a BBQ. I'm thinking there is going to be some TASTY food there!

Hot Wheels Employee Picnic and Road Trip kick off

From a few weeks ago...

Hot Wheels Road Trip night 1!

It's actually almost 2 weeks into the Road Trip but I am just now joining, so it's day 1 for me.

today was a travel day, - we had a lot of luck with the flights being on time! Only on the one hour ride from Chicago to Detroit did I have to deal with OUT OF CONTROL children and hairy-arm guy... Got to the hotel and went out for dinner - a lot of places are closed on Sundays here so we ended up Chelio's - Chris Chelios' Chili place. Food was ok... nothing great. mmm fried chicken. it was sweet!?!

I am totally amused with me.

me and a tired Hladek.
One of the collectors, Joe, came out for a beer.
good night now!

On the flip side

This is me writing the last one

Just landed

SASTC and I are texting each other on the plane about this hairy guy I had to sit next to, he wouldn't put the arm rest down and his hair kept rubbing up against me. If I like you then I like your hairy-self, if I don't know you then keep your hair away from me!

Shuffle All playlist on flight 106

About an hour and a half into my flight, already failed at trying to take a nap, judged 1/3 of the people on my plane, read 83 pages of my book (AL was right, it's pretty good - I think the kids call it a page turner, well they would if they read books.) Felt like giving my thumbs a workout and motivate my brain a little and thought I'd track what songs are coming up on shuffle.

Jane's Addiction - Had a Dad

Mazzy Star - Free
(Went on a date with a guy once who claimed this album was written about him, and when I said "Get out" in my best Elaine/Seinfeld voice he said "if I were Johnny Depp you would believe me" - A) I wasn't doubting you and B) yeh - duh. First and last date. He made jewelry. He had two dining room chairs in his living room because he thought if he had a couch it would make him lazy and he didn't want to be discouraged from going out every night. Clearly he was not the right guy for me.

Gossip - Yesterday's News
(man, I love this live record - I love the line that says "if she asks I'm doin' fine" - her voice sounds awesome right there and sarcasm always gets me right in the place that my heart would be if I had one.

Tindersticks - Jism
(I wonder when their new cd is coming out domestically, I should just order the import)

Bad Brains - Attitude

The Dirtbombs - Race to the Bottom
(I GUARANTEE you this will not be the last time that The Dirtbombs come up, my player loooooooves to play the Dirtbombs. This song is like 8 minutes long, to that I say OH HELL NO, forwarding)

Soulsavers - Untitled (Instrumental)
(sounds like something Guy recorded, that's a compliment btw)

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Lay Me Low
(mmmm, Nick + Hollywood Bowl = fuck yeh!)

(Just glanced at the movie playing, I think Debra Messing just was on screen - figures - wasn't I just talking about how I really didn't care for her?)

"If you wanna be my friend and you wanna repent...and you want it all to end and you wanna know when... Make a stand, take my hand...they'll interview my teachers who'll say I was one of God's sorrier creatures" Ahhhh Nick. So good.

Earlimart - Lazy Feet 23
(yeh a fine song but a really poor follow-up to Lay Me Low, and I never noticed they sounded so much like Elliott Smith.)

The Smiths - Hand in Glove

(My back hurts in these seats)

The Who - Love is Coming Down
(2nd Who song of the flight, I really wish Shuffle All meant shuffle ALL)

Buzzcocks - Lipstick

The Notorius B.I.G. - Just Playing (Dreams)

Beatles - Fixing a Hole
(I don't care what anyone says The BeeGees Sgt Pepper movie was AWESOME and this is my favorite Beatles album, comments are disabled for a reason, suck it.)

(Uh I just figured out my headphones weren't plugged in all the way, it sounds so much better now!)

A Tribe Called Quest - Sucka N***A
(is that how the song is listed on the album or just in the Zune? I can't remember.)

(Man something has to give - I've got my sweatshirt, the Zune, a book and a Magazine on my lap - I need a better plan for my seat situation)

Crawdaddys - You Can't Judge a Book.....

KMFDM - Virus (Dub)
(KMFDM has been getting me through some hard days at work lately)

The Black Keys - Yearnin'

Mary's Danish - Venus Loves Leaonard

Swans - Trust Me

The Smiths - The Headmaster Ritual
(Seriously, there are literally hundredes of other artists that could've been played between the 2 Smiths songs - Dirtbombs is probably next)

Thee Headcoats - Pldophile

Magnetic Fields - Xavier Says

Arab Strap- The Week Never Starts Around Here

(I'm totally about to eat a salad I got at Wolfgang Pucks ToGo- chinese chicken salad, my seatmates are going to hate the smell. Sorry seatmates!)

Lost Sounds - Don't Ask Why

The Dirtbombs - Correspondence
(Bah)

Reatards - Memphis Blues

Barry Adamson - The Snowball Effect

The Gories - He's Doin It
I guess it's Mick Collins that the Zune likes, not just the Dirtbombs.

(Done with the salad-first few bites were tasty but it was all down hill after that)

Black Hollies - That Little Girl

Elton John - Social Disease

Jane's Addiction - Three Days (the realllllly long version)

(I think I just found a typ-o in the 9/1 issue of Sports Illustrated, page 32)

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Ain't Gonna Rain Anymore
(I always wanted a line like "once there came a storm in the form of a girl" to be written about me)

Misfits - Skulls

Swans - The Child's Right

Swans - Song for the Sun
(Seriously, 3 Swans songs and 2 in a row! Wtf. Was Mick Collins in the Swans??)

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds -Midnight Man

Oh- descending! Electronics away!

Landed, taxi-ing, not spell checking, posting

Countdown to Road Trip

updated!

Leaving with SASTC in a few days for Detroit and then driving to NY. It's all work but I think we'll have a good time... Especially on the drive to NY, it will only take a few hours but I have high expectations for those hours - I should go online and see if there is anything we can stop and be goofy at - like world's biggest cupcake display or something. BETTER YET! You should look it up for me and let me know!

[note to self - print itinerary and directions to all stops!]

So much to do before we leave, feeling a little overwhelmed. Saturday's plans got postponed which is probably a good thing.

Cause I like to make lists:
Pedicure - nope. no time. it's ok though. It was a nice to have, not a have to have
Hair Salon yes. lots of brown!
Breakfast with the girls good company, cold eggs
Pictionary
Pack (7 days worth of clothes into a carry-on. yikes) have the clothes laid out, we'll see if they fit into the carry-on!
Wireless card thanks to BS and AL for the loan
Clean out my email had to go in on Saturday to do it but it's done!
File everything I got behind on filing this week CHECK!
Finish unpacking my desk CHECK!
Chiropractor crack check!
Not stress - minor success.
Charge camera
Play with new kitten - ongoing
Play with old cats - boring
Quality time with husband. - not enough!
Set DVR (living room) and TiVo (bedroom) for all the new shows that will start next week (yes, I do it in both rooms. I like options)
Update the Zune (that damn software crashes my computer)
Buy an airplane book. Black Dahlia book recommendation from AL
Email this list to my phone so that I can have it on me!
Make some lists, check them twice, forget something. already remembered two things I forgot, luckily I already forgot them again

Once we get there:
Yell at JB from BS on behalf of HW.
Baseball game with the Mulligans - Tigers v Angels - GO TIGERS!
Look for world's biggest cupcake display
Wine taste
Time with boss, friends and others at the HW event.
Meet MM's dad MM.
work. hmmph.
Post lots of pics to blog and FB. I can never decide which to send where...

Time for Project RunwaySUSHI!!

is 50% humidity high and other randomness___

Being from LA I tend to have no clue what "weather" is like. Was just checking the weather in Detroit and Watkins Glen and the humidity (which apparently is what I need to be concerned with) ranges from 37 to 70%. I would imagine 70 gets pretty sweaty, but lower than that I really don't know.

It makes me want to pack three outfits per day. The flaw in that scenario is that I am refusing to check a bag for this trip. Now, if you've ever gone anywhere further than Pomona with me you know what a true challenge this is going to be. I have what I consider to be my minimum amount of clothes ready for the suitcase and after dinner I will try to shove it all in. Plus I have my backpack (with laptop, book, etc) AND I have my purse with a camera, a Zune, two BlackBerry's (don't hate) and a wallet. I will do this. I am totally, completely confident that this will happen. I even researched the most efficient packing methods and will probably be up until dawn trying them all out.

We're going to have sushi right now. yum. Except I am kind of craving mexican food. But I've been cryin' for weeks about how I had to have sushi. Sushi is totally the right choice. Especially since the chiro is making me keep a food diary (and by making me, I mean he suggested it).

Oh and (of course) Guy is good at Pictionary. It's been proven with two different partners now. I'm not sooo bad at guessing but I am terrible at drawing. Last night I got "cheese grater" and after the minute was up and I told my partner (and fabulous hostess) what the word was she said "So, why didn't you draw a cheese grater" - yeh, I dunno, next time I'll try using that strategy in the game.

Hey, check it out, the Dodgers were winning, and can you believe it's tied now? shocking.

Plane takes off at 8:30 in the morning... fingers crossed that all goes smoothly!

From 10am to 4:30pm

Thoughts while running errands on a Friday

Holy shit- I am easily impressed with technology BUT the new parking system at Century City is awesome!

I wonder why container store would open at 9 when the other stores don't open till 10

Clearly the employees wonder why they open at 10 also. I appreciate a loose atmosphere but when you're open to the public stop acting like fools.

I always wondered how you can have a medium and not have a small. Medium, large and xlarge doesn't make sense to me

McCain picked a woman? Odd. He's a fool

Man, there's a lot of traffic on Santa Monica bl.

Uhhh why would the Sex and the city book be in the Sociology section?

Last year I got the girls a book called something like What Your Poop is Telling You and I just saw that now they have poop journals and page a day calendars, funny, but maybe poop overkill?

Man, I've been looking for a houndstooth pencil skirt forEVER. Thought I spotted one, it was a jacket

Getting hungry, on my way to breakfast, I've done a lot already today.

Quote o t day: this is how I know I am close to 40, I like the coldplay album

Breakfast w the girls was nice - good to see them. My eggs were cold tho

At the hair salon. Should I read Entertainment Weekly or should I save that one for the plane ride tomorrow?

NOT the quote of the day: "I love your mustache, it's so rad"

I always am terrified that a natural or unnatural disaster will hit Abbott Kinney while I have foils in my hair

Reading entertainment weekly and waiting for a natural disaster - page 47, I really don't like Debra Messing very much. P 50-Hamlet 2? What was Hamlet 1? Desperate Housewives skips ahead 5 years? Dumb

Getting sleepy sitting here.

These flip-flops are kinda hurting my feet. I was planning on wearing them all next week, might have to rethink that plan

On my way home. Lots of brown in my hair - the girl said "call me if you feel like an anchor woman"

Fantastic then.

No more errands! Fun time!

Construction continues!

Some day this will all be cubicles.

This is why my computer isn't working

Bad luck black cat is too close to it

Best comment on Biden so far.

"He's young but not that young and old but not McCain old" [LAist]

btw - you should totally be reading LAist . . . or if you made the mistake of not living in LA and have your own ist you should be reading it.

Where can I buy some perspective?

I was thinking today about that scene in Purple Rain where Prince is talking to a puppet and the puppet says to him "Life's a bitch" (except I remembered him saying, "Man, I don't know, life's a bitch" but when I looked it up online that didn't appear to be right, ANYWAY).... I don't know why I thought about that, could be because I'm too hard on myself for losing my credit card, losing my driver's license, forgetting (for 1 day) to pay my credit card bill, and not realizing I needed a smog check on the car (all things I have total control over and are not "life's a bitch" kind of things) or could be because I just heard about someone at work who passed away (which totally is a life's a bitch" kind of thing). And I was gonna write about that here and then I thought NO! I am not gonna write about something negative. (I'm trying here). But I am feeling a little unchallenged and brain dead so I thought I would go online and just see what random writing exercise Live Journal has up. BTW - I have never done this before I just know they have it and figured it would be a good way to challenge my unchallenged brain. again, ANYWAY, today's writing exercise is:

"What's the most romantic thing you have done for someone?"

srsly? you.have.got.to.be.FUCKING.kidding.me.

talk about kicking a girl when she has no reason to be down. I am pretty sure I have never met a person as unromantic as I am. bah. what the fuck I say, what.the.fuck. Maybe tomorrow's topic can be "write about the last 4-course meal you prepared for your husband" or "how did it feel the first time you changed your oil" or "write that first Iron Man triathlon you finished."

Anyway, I have a fantastic husband, a new kitty, two old, fat lazy and awesome cats, a pretty sweet job and live in the best city anywhere with the best friends a girl could ask for so fuck off live journal, I don't have to justify my OCD, ADD, unromantic, unchallenged self to you assholes.

Where was that to-do list?

Didn't I make a to-do list a while back? Man, that was a motivated week. I've totally regressed.
I am just so tired lately. I know that the people say it's myth that you can't really catch up on sleep but I really feel like 15 straight hours of REM sleep would be exactly what I need.

I need to go find my to-do list and find some motivation.

Man, my back hurts lately. I went to the gym 4 days in a row and then 4 days of back pain. Monday, I'm going back. Really. If I am going to look anything like Joan Jett in 15 years (and not 14 thank you very much) I really need to get cracking.

Work is wearing me out. Next few weeks are going to be interesting. And in two weeks I'm leaving for a week - man, that was a terrible idea. It'll be fun. Stressful though to be gone a week.

This will be a good weekend, Imax, Pool party, Gangi (maybe), and a new edition to the Vaughn household on trial. Should be interesting. And exhausting. Is 6:20 too early for dinner?

I put two holes in my new favorite t-shirt today. Bummer.

this Family Guy episode I am watching is kinda lame.

Joan Jett doesn't have a great website.

But she puts on an awesome show!

Starving.

Dust 1, Cindy 0

So I think I've mentioned that I work in a construction zone one or 20 times by now. And... if you've come around my desk while I was bitching about the dust or the smells then, well, you know how I feel. Today I lost it. I went to bed with a CRAZY itchy pair of eyes and woke up with my right eye super swollen. I thought I had picked up pink eye from the gym (4 days this week thankyouverymuch) and was about to let that be my excuse for never going back. Was able to squeeze in to see the eye doctor though and she asked if I have been around any environmental changes, when I mentioned the construction she said that she had treated someone else from my building yesterday. Three eye drops prescriptions, a recommendation to not wear my contacts to work until construction is done (6 months, a year?) and a lost hour from the office later I'm really aggravated....

I went and gave the only 4 people that should care a piece of my swollen-eyed mind and yeh, I don't know if they really cared, but I think they should. This sucks ass. I wonder if I can expense the $45 office visit and $25 eye drops. I love my job, but for fuck's sake, a girl with allergies can really only take so much y'know.

thanks for listening. I have to go and google "ways to win at pictionary when you're playing against actual artists"

Still? Really? Things that make me say "Still? Really?"

Apologies in advance if you support these things in any way. This is my list - you can make your own list and put Crow tattoos in position numero one.

Things I think are sort of tired and don't really need to see/hear/smell anymore....

  • Smoking. sorry to any friends that smoke. It doesn't bother me when you do it. Only when randoms are reeky
  • seeing the rendering of a proposed NFL stadium in LA and/or listening to people debate about it. How many years do we need to do this... get your shit together, figure it out. Everyone knows that there needs to be a team here and I don't care where they play cause I'm probably never gonna go - and I don't care if it's a relocated team or a new team cause they're gonna suck anyway like all other LA teams (except the Lakers). So just make it happen so we can stop being a Raiders city staring lovingly at renderings. booyah.
  • "staycations" --- for fuck's suck. why does something need a name before people think it's a good idea.
  • complaining about real estate and gas prices. yeh - we know. they suck
  • Pepsi
  • U2 - I just read they have a new album this year... seriously? wasn't it just like 6 months ago that we had to see their mugs everywhere and hear the hype about the stupid ipod...So basically we're gonna go from the overplayed Coldplay (see below) ipod commericial to another U2 commercial. ARGH. yay for TiVo. And remotes so I can change the channel.
  • midriffs - unless you're 12.
  • belly button piercings
  • white shoes - duh. white pants are a close second
  • The Sundays/Coldplay. Are you happy Chris Martin - you are now on par with the Sundays in my head! Sure, you're probaby not on Muzak yet - but it's only a matter of time before a last minute and only in extreme desperation induced trip to my local drugstore forces me to hear one of your ear piercing songs. (Sundays heard 6/18 11:35 am Bed Bath and Beyond, Sepulveda)

this is an ongoing list - updates will be in bold.

I'm MOVING!

In 21 days I'll be sitting right here.

Never forget...

It was already two weeks ago that I devoured this in San Diego and I just can't bring myself to delete the picture.

Chair time-out

There was something about the way all of the chairs were forced in there that made me sad.

mmmm matte

I really want this t-shirt

I can't stop thinking about it, seriously.
http://www.gama-go.com/product.php?productid=16610&cat=270&page=1

Upside down, boy you turn me

It got my attention, so I guess it worked.

He's missing the X Games!

Do you think he's heading to Carson? Neither do I.

X Games

I'm holding this stick. It's a very important job.

3 day week?

Looking for shoes* online I came across this on zappos: "The Daily Shoe Digest is an e-mail discussion list, sent three times per week"

hmmmm. curious. I read the FAQs and "why we think the week is only 3 days long" isn't listed...

This was though: "If your post doesn't appear after 5 days, please re-submit it" --- yeh, I dunno. I think that's funny.

*Via Spiga Lion, black, size 10 in case you see it online - thx

All I need is 20 ounces of burnt coffee and I'll be fine

Listening to these two women at the doctor's office, they have not stopped blabbing since I walked in---here's the deal-

One of em doesn't want to go to jury duty, the other tells her she could get out of it, surely it's a financial hardship, unless she has to show her tax returns and then she can't claim that.

The 41 olympic swimmer has a great body and dedication and two kids

She still doesn't wanna go to jury duty, it's still a hardship

Jury duty woman woke up at 9(gasping, literally) on saturday to see The Dark Knight - except she called it Batman -and it was sold out till Wednesday - discussion about Imax and disappointment and yes it's on lots of screens but only one Imax - don't worry they bought tickets for Wednesday

"It's like a cave in here"

"Who took my pen that has my name on it, I'm sure it wasn't you"
"It was probably me"
Shuffle papers, open drawers, shuffle crap, close drawers
"Where is my pen"

Whispering (probably about the cranky girl in the waiting room so rudely typing away with her thumbs instead of engaging in the Imax convo)

Now they've settled down and are quiet, yay, peace and quiet for my sleepy self - how do I get the worldwide no chitchat before 10am law put in place?

HEY- overly tanned guy in shorts, a tucked buttonup and flip flops got called before me! I should be called first just for having to endure nonsensical discussions, nevermind that I was actually here first.

Wow- I am really tired.

it's 3:30, do you know what your sprinklers are doing

woke around 2am, couldn't sleep and felt like typing in the dark while watching tv. next time need to remember the ramifications of the "Coke" aspect of Jack and Coke. And turkish coffee probably didn't help things either

2:53:30 AM I never did fully understand the X-Files
2:54:10 AM Scully’s hair looks a little fried, but her eyebrows look great
2:54:39 AM I wonder if the sprinklers always go off at 2;30am
2:57:15 AM If I want to beat anyone at Scrabulous I probably should not try and play now
2:58:07 AM Man, I don’t know, The Closer looks terrible
2:59:29 AM I agree with Andy on the whole push to talk thing
3:00:05 AM oh snap, it’s an X-Files marathon
3:01:50 AM that guy just pulled out his heart, ow
3:06:35 AM I turned down the volume so Guy wouldn’t wake up, but now I can’t hear it. Hmmph
3:08:06 AM another dude lost his heart
3:08:21 AM someone downstairs just made a loud crash and now the dog is barking. How do we sleep thru this every night?
3:09:15 AM the commercials are so random…. I kinda get RLS medication, but yogurt?
3:09:53 AM dog still barking
3:10:24 AM eharmony – that totally makes sense
3:10:36 AM I think someone is doing donuts down in the garage
3:10:57 AM the pedi egg is the most disgusting invention ever
3:14:39 AM seriously, what is going on in the garage
3:21:18 AM PGA – Tiger = don’t care
3:25:11 AM Saving Grace doesn’t look good either
3:25:55 AM oy, only 32% X-Files on Rotten Tomatoes, that’s too bad
3:26:26 AM wow, this episode is really boring. I wonder if it would be better if I could hear it
3:27:02 AM I really need to try and fall asleep

Tokidoki-so cute!

For the living room?

Do you think Guy would be upset if I brought R2 home? He's only $5450. Cute!

Early!

It's 8:15 and I am sitting in Sheila's room waiting for her to get ready for our breakfast meeting and trying not to wake up Maky. I'm actually sitting in the bathroom because it's the only room with light and can hear Sheila furiously typing away on her keyboard and wonders if she realizes we're gonna be late?

Damn hotel alarm went off at 5. I think hotel staff does that on purpose to play a cruel joke on us. I mean I would totally do that if I worked in a hotel.

And couldn't sleep well, different bed and all.

And so only really got like 5 hours of sleep, which is mos def not enough.

And starving.

And gunna be late for breakfast.

But having a pretty fun time.

But it's gunna be a long day.

Bye.

The garage had a boo boo

Oh hell yeh

3 ish hours till doors open

Lunch of champions!

Like I said

Never be upset when you hit traffic- even when you're driving to San Diego mid day.

wow, i'm really dumb sometimes.

Put this in the "Someone paid more attention to her record collection than to her history teacher during high school" file*

So, I use the handy dandy Google Reader to keep up with my daily blogs and news and sometimes (just about always) at work it doesn't load the images fast enough so I only see the headlines, and then it freezes completely and I have to go back to it later…. So this morning I see this headline on Boing Boing: "Buy a full-size T. Rex replica" and wonder to myself who in 2008-1/2 would want a life size Marc Bolan? But it is Boing Boing, and I don't remember him being especially tall and because of that it makes perfect sense… So, Google Reader freezes and when I reopen it I see this:

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. right.
*what, you don't have a file called that?

Don't be a prik

Home made prik khing! NOM!

Right Now!

  1. i am STOKED over getting the news about a new TVOTR cd- FINALLY! even though honestly I am still not tired of the last one
  2. can hear Guy making dinner and am flip flopping between feeling like the luckiest girl alive and guilty cause i'm in here fuckin around
  3. thinks picasa rules, and really only needs it to be wireless to make me that much happier
  4. i kinda sorta kinda want an iphone. don't tell Guy. i love gadgets. and their apps look awesome. gonna try and wait it out to see what BlackBerry comes up with. damnit.
  5. i have 1 night till i have to geek out with the nerds and am sooooo overwhelmed with shit i need to do at work and home. bah.
  6. loves the Dodgers right now. 12-2 in the 4th. hah! (err, not loving the error just now...might just want to delete number 6 before I even publish this---BAH, 12-3)
  7. feels bad that Guy has to go to jury duty tomorrow but thinks the plan of wearing one of my t-shirts, reading Are You There God, It's Me Margaret, while carrying a disposable camera in one hand and an oversized rubber ducky with a rainhat in the other hand should be a good way to not get placed on a jury
  8. realizes that she's writing these the same way she writes her Facebook status and that needs to stop

THIS is what Muzak should sound like!

So I had a dentist appointment that involved drilling and "cracking sounds" so I decided to listen to the sound of my music instead of the sound of teeth cracking. I put it on shuffle and below is what I was given... I don't know the names of any songs, just artists....oh and I gotta say this is a genius way to get through a dentist appointment - it wasn't so much the music, that was actually sort of a pain in the ass, since I had to keep asking him to repeat himself when he said anything, but it was a great distraction having to remember all the bands before I could type them out...

A Tribe Called Quest (awesome way to start)
Placebo
Gossip (My new favorite)
Outkast
Black Keys
Headcoats
Marcy Playground
The Hives (note to self, delete the Hives)
Arab strap
Sts9
Jeremy Jay
Galaxie 500
Oasis (see The Hives above, unless it's Definitely Maybe)
Doves (booooring, sorry fans of Doves)
Converge (mmmm, I don't know... Andy suggested this one - better for when I am angry at work I think)
Kiss (oh - we're almost done and this is a perfect way to end, shutting down)

This would never happen to Batman

Somewhere out there is a Spider-Man that feels less than whole

A day with Coop and Poub

Guy was outta town last week for Cooper's birthday party and so The Clough's invited us over so that Guy could experience some of the most delish carne asada and I could take pics of the baby and the cat.
and a link: http://picasaweb.google.com/cindymvaughn/CooperAtHome

Cooper turns 1!

He had the BEST carne asada at his party! unfortunately for Guy he had to miss it.... I had enough for both of us, twice.

here's the link, in case the slideshow no worky worky for you http://picasaweb.google.com/cindymvaughn/CooperSFirstBirthdayParty

music

MAN! I've been trapped at my computer all afternoon because Zune made me FANTASTIC autoplaylist and I have not been able to drag myself away... I mean, obviously, I will like it cause it's all of my music, but it's playing all the music I actually WANT to hear right now and music I didn't even know know I wanted to hear... I have only forwarded through 2 or 3 songs and that's just because some of Guy's Built to Spill seeped in....

I need to hurry and log off though because Bleck Beck is coming up... good night now... going to see Chocolate Genius now, which the Zune knew because he played a song for me.

Yes, I take requests

KR asks me:

I don’t know how you feel about potty humor but I really think you need to take a picture of the flush the toilet completely signs in the bathroom and put it on your blog thing. Wondering if any other company has to tell their adult employees to please not leave their business hanging out for others to witness.

yes, I often wonder the same thing. And I have a feeling is the answer is "yes." People are just disgusting. I mean public bathrooms are sooo nasty when you think about it, which I, obviously, try not to. Anyone who wears their shoes inside their home (which we Vaughns do btw) is basically letting a stranger pee/poo/piss/shit in their bed. Think about it - you walk in the bathroom and there is always something nasty on the floor and you walk in it, then you walk in your house with your shoes on, then you walk in your house barefoot, picking up all the nastiest that your shoes left and then you get in bed with Joe Randumb's insides stuck to your feet and rubbing off on your sheets. gross.

We actually had a different problem at the office not so long ago that required a note that said something about discarding your feminine products in the bins provided and they didn't mean instead of the toilet, they meant instead of leaving it on the seat for the next person - this was actually happening A LOT at work - and it started suddenly, so I think it was being done maliciously by someone who was just mad at someone. gross.

gross.

To Do

Here's my list - I gave it order so you I can see what I need to do. Why is it so short yet I feel so overwhelmed by it! I need to take charge of my to-do!

- clean out closet, hallway closet, hallway shelves, then...
- drop off stuff at Out of the Closet
- make Fla and TX photo albums
- oh maybe I'll think about a new paint color in the bathroom

- Go see Wall-E
- eat crabs, drink beers
- go to the post office
- go to the atm
- have ramen with Guy
- organize photos
--- make photo albums
--- decide which to print/frame and order them there totally were not any worth printing
- clean up desk (not as easy as those 3 little words would imply)
- make 2 returns
- go to Doctor's appt.
--- do not fill prescribed medications and instead research alternatives that do not involve prescription drugs. bah - nevermind. I just need to drink water.
- pack toys
- sell some books -- give away some books!
old news:
Update: It's Sunday and I feel pretty good about what I accomplished this week!
Update: It's Thursday. totally getting shit done.
Update: It's Wednesday and I did nothing today. Well I had lunch with Guy. that's TOTALLY something, but it's not on the list. oh - wait... look, it magically appeared!
Update: It's Tuesday and I cleaned the desk. yay.
Update: It's Monday and I didn't do anything on my list today but I realized that I also have Thursday since Guy isn't fortunate enough to have a 4 day weekend.

So I may be sitting on the couch right now and maybe I didn't do anything today and maybe I won't do anything tomorrow but starting Monday you better believe shit is getting done! I took next week off work just to get caught up on stuff at home - so that means I have Mon, Tue and Wed before the long holiday weekend where I won't do anything except eat and drink.

Homemade Shrimp Stock!

Guy is making another what is sure to be AWESOME dinner... he's even making shrimp stock!

Holiday Weekend Fun

We had some TASTY food, some ice cold beers and some really good times with friends this weekend. Sorry to see the weekend end but I do need to detox!!
